Client Testimonials

“From the moment I met Sheila, I was awed by her authenticity and passion for social justice and community health needs. She has incredible organizational skills, and is proficient in prospect identification, proposal development, leading teams and writing technical aspects of grant applications with a story telling flair. I had the pleasure of working with Sheila in my role at MedStar Health when we needed additional grant development support. She quickly developed relationships with hospital leaders and community partners to lead proposal teams and to craft and submit compelling grant applications. Sheila earns my highest recommendation.”

“Sheila is a highly skilled grant writer. She excels at distilling complex, multifaceted concepts into strong proposals by interweaving relevant data/research with an organization's fundamental "why". She is easy to work with, well organized, manages multiple timelines/proposals with ease, and always meets deadlines. She is a clear communicator, asks important clarifying questions, and is a wonderful thought partner for working on new proposal content. She is also effective in other written communications (annual/impact reports, speech writing, social media content, strategic planning, etc.), and grant prospecting. I strongly recommend working with her - she has been fundamental to my organization's success since she began as a freelancer with us.”

“Sheila is an outstanding specialist in resource development, research, and writing for nonprofit organizations. She is able to craft on mission language that is compelling, builds on your organizational strengths with strong storytelling components, and weaves in appropriate evaluation data and research. From proposal review and identifying potential funders, from writing compelling copy for donor outreach or social media, from grant writing to reporting, she specializes in being the extension of your development shop. Sheila is efficient, kind, thoughtful and a wonderful human being.”

“Rarely do I meet someone that I can trust as much as Sheila. When we first met, she single-handedly managed a massive grant portfolio, drove the brand identity for the organization, and still somehow managed to build lifelong relationships with her peers. Her dedication to social justice and relationship building is unparalleled. She is comfortable with being wrong, willing to listen to different perspectives, and is committed to growing professionally and personally. In short, Sheila is 100% the person you should and would want to hire. She is detail-oriented, hard-working, and able to meet seemingly impossible deadlines, but most importantly, she is an excellent colleague and friend. I firmly believe that you will never regret working with Sheila. In fact, you will walk away with a lifelong friend.”

“Sheila Wells is impeccably organized, but thoughtful in her approach to grant development and consulting. Sheila is an exceptional writer, a masterful listener, and is able to use both sets of skills to bring narrative form to life. She is one of the most talented professionals in the development space…”

“It was clear from the beginning the quality of work was exceptional. Sheila continuously proved her ability to lead a team through collaboration, sharing ideas and encouraging her peers. Her innovative approach to grant making is highly evident in her past work and showcases her potential as a consultant and writing expert.”

“Sheila is an excellent project manager and I watched in awe as she quietly accomplished grant writing, event planning, fundraising, donor relations, communication plan development, training junior staff members, and more. Sheila is highly organized and excels at synthesizing data into language, ideas into actions, and potentials into outcomes. I can still hear Sheila saying, “What are our action items?” She can laser focus a team or an individual into creating tangible tasks and results in order to achieve goals for large organizations and clients. Sheila is an exceptional resource and wonderful mentor. I highly recommend Sheila for development, communications, and non-profit management relations.”
